My mother, Susan, who is an amazing visual artist...who never got a chance to really pursue her talent because she had to raise us 3 kids on her own after my father split. Still she was able to instill a love for visual expression to me...so though I could list a ton of contemporary artists and designers, I'll take this opportunity to honor her.
